"If something can go wrong it will go wrong" is sometimes interpreted
to mean that if something can go wrong it will go wrong
catastrophically. This is why ersatz environmentalists say that
global warming will destroy all life on the planet, just as cutting
down a tree, moving a spotted owl two inches to the right, drilling for
oil, driving a car, smoking a cigarette, eating at McDonalds, shopping
at Walmart, fighting terrorism, or voting for Republicans will also
destroy all life on the planet.
